This database contains registers of pioneers and settlers who came to Far North Queensland, Australia between the years 1825 and 1920. The records are compilations of information contributed to and collected by the Cairns and District Family History Society from descendants of area settlers. The volume contains a wide amount of information about the pioneers and settlers and are arranged alphabetically. The collection is fronted by a list of abbreviations used in the entries.

The Australian state of Queensland is located along the north-eastern coast of Australia and the Far North Queensland area at the top of the state is known for its tropical landscape. The region became more attractive to immigrants with the discovery of gold in the 1860s and 70s and an agricultural industry also developed.
