This database contains a catalogue of the sheriffs of Montgomeryshire from 1540 to 1639. It includes their armorial bearings as well as genealogical and biographical notices of their families. These memoirs originally appeared in the "Collections, Archaeological and Historical, relating to Montgomeryshire, and its borders," issued by the Powys-land Club (preface). They were compiled in this volume to make them more widely circulated.
